Wasia Project have announced their debut album,
'Nocturne'.The sibling duo of
Will Gao and
Olivia Hardy will release the record on 18th September via AWAL Recordings, alongside newly shared single
'Bleeding Gold'.Following previous track '2515', the new single explores nostalgia, youth and fleeting connection, pairing Olivia's vocals with shimmering guitars and expansive pop production.
"Bleeding Gold is a song about nostalgia, returning to your roots, and understanding that though you can’t go back to your younger self, your past will always be part of you and travel with you as you go forth," the band explain.
According to the press release, 'Nocturne' explores isolation, fractured connection and coming-of-age experiences through a darker and more nocturnal sonic palette than the duo’s earlier work, blending electronic music, soul and piano-pop across 12 tracks.
The announcement follows a run of intimate live shows earlier this month, with Wasia Project also set to appear at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend later this month.
